The ballots are in and have been counted! We're happy to report no hanging chads! The new leadership for the LA/Orange County Chapter of MCAI is herewith presented for your perusal.

In case you didn't know, the all-volunteer officers and board of directors of the chapter steer the non-profit organization's activities and its growth. Their goal is to keep the organization focused on supporting the needs of membership and the professional media community as well as serving the regional society at large.

Successful innovations in the last few years have been highlighted by MediaProCamp, an industry survey and programming themes such as "Web 3.0." The officers and board also oversee various committees such as programming, events, membership, etc. Participation on committees and volunteering to help at meetings is open to both members and non-members alike!

LA/OC Chapter Officers elected for July 2010 through July 2011 are:

President: Mark Alexander, producer, videographer, editor and major domo of Alexander Video Productions, http://www.alexandervideopro.com has been serving as the chapter's Secretary for two years and doing a great job. Mark was also the force behind our recent Media Industry Survey. Now as he takes the reins, his affable charm will obviate any need for a whip.

Vice President: Eva Crabbs, a trained broadcast engineer This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Her familiar smiling face has been welcome as she helped organize meetings, events and served on committees.

Secretary: Julie Nagode, a freelance voice-over artist is a relatively new member who has agreed to take over the recording secretary's duties This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The self-described 'cat herder' and producer now becomes the officially elected, full-time Bursar. As the founder of DayJob Productions and OC Showbiz www.ocshowbiz.com, Art is well experienced in keeping a non-profit organization in the black. Just ignore his talk about deserving a new car...

The Board of Directors for the coming 12 months includes documentary filmmaker and president of RTSea Productions, http://www.rtsea.com Richard Theiss, a specialist in nature cinematography, especially underwater. Joining Theiss is Bill O'Neill a producer, videographer and the firebrand behind Celtfire Productions This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Bill has been an MCAI Member literally for decades and returns to serve on the board once more. Also, replacing Eva Crabbs as a member of the board at large, is longtime member, Brian Page. The chapter's members and all those who have associated with MCAI in the past year congratulate the new leadership and offer a heartfelt expression of thanks to those who served in leadership positions for the previous year including, President Bill Ennis of Media Magic www.MediaMagic.TV and Vice President Larry Goldsmith of Starlight Video Productions http://www.starlightvideoproductions.com/
