For a Monday night, Las Fajitas, was rockin’! The cozy Irvine restaurant, known for Fresh Mex more than expansive ambience, was SRO with OC media professionals. Most were members of one of the six sponsoring organizations but many non-members came to celebrate with us as well. It was on open invitation to every professional working in media. Between the socializing, doorprizes, white elephant gift exchange and great food, everyone had fun.

Upon hearing of the sudden passing of longtime PVN and MCAI member Larry Goldsmith, who died early Monday morning July 2nd, the two organizations were ready to cancel the July 11 event. However, Larry’s wife, Olivia, supported the idea that it would be appropriate to use the occasion to celebrate our friend’s life.
So it’s still a party. You might say we’re re-purposing it. We’ll still be cooking up fresh burgers, dogs, etc. on the grill but we’ll hold the Swap Meet on a later date. Rick Sherman, of Sherman Sound Suite, will provide live music so expect to have fun.
Everyone who knew Larry Goldsmith would agree his sense of humor and good nature—and his dedication to Aloha Shirts—made him memorable. So, we’re asking everyone to wear a Hawaiian shirt and bring your best Larry Goldsmith story to share.
This will be a fun, casual gathering of media professionals and as always, a great opportunity to make new business connections and connect with old friends. Whether you knew Larry or not, come and enjoy our celebration of friendship with a man who will be deeply missed.
