I want to take this moment to wish all of you a very Happy 2010 Holiday season. Through the year we typically spend so much time working away at our editing stations, behind a camera or in a voice over booth that we don’t have many opportunities to just step out and enjoy the company of our fellow media pros. In celebrating this special time of year, MCA-I OC/LA traditionally puts on a holiday party for chapter members. This year we thought we’d change things up a bit. Thanks to the organizational efforts of chapter vice-president, Eva Crabbs, we co-hosted a holiday bash at the Irvine Dave and Busters with 6 different area media groups.
Our special thanks to all the fun people who shared the evening and represented the OC Media Alliance, Orange County Digital Arts, OC Screen Writers Assoc, the Orange County VO Peeps, The Orange County Film Commission, the Professional Communication Exchange and of course the LA/OC Chapter of MCAI!
It was a special evening and we met people that we may not otherwise have had the chance to get together with. Maybe this is the start of new tradition. It’s certainly my hope that we continue to develop these new relationships throughout the coming year.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated and energetic folks who work behind the scenes for our chapter. As board and committee members your efforts have been instrumental in making our chapter one of the best in the country. To all those who come to the meetings and participate in great events like Media ProCamp – thank you!
Happy Holidays and the best of the best both personally and in business to each of you in the coming year!
Mark Alexander, Pres. MCA-I OC/LA
For the second year, the Panasonic Solutions Company is making these iconic events possible. Starting on March 24th with the first event in San Diego, Panasonic is supporting media professionals with its involvement in MCA-I’s MediaProCamp. The popularity of the event has grown the series to a total of six this year.
Previously, Panasonic has given attendees sneak previews of new products such as the groundbreaking AG-3DP1, a 3D integrated twin-lens P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder, and the Panasonic AG-AF100 featuring a large 4/3-inch, 16:9 MOS imager with an imaging area just slightly smaller than 35mm cinema film
.
This year, MediaProCamp Events will be held in San Diego, Orange County, St Louis, Atlanta, Detroit, and Central Carolina, reaching ever more media pros. For more on MCA-i's MediaProCamp go to the pulldodwn menue on the front page of our Chapters website, www.mcai-oc.org
