Media Producer and Business Consultant, Art Kirsh, has stepped up to fill the position of Treasurer for the LA/OC Chapter of MCAI. A member for over a year, Art volunteered for the open position a few weeks ago. He was confirmed by the Chapter Board of Directors on February 3, 2010 and officially welcomed to the board as an officer. He comes to the position overqualified...

Kirsch spent a number of years as business executive and consultant in the computer-graphics industry before delving into the world of media production. He still acts as a consultant for business development to Irvine-based The Buddy Group which includes renting out their two sound stages: all this while actively producing various media projects. Given that background, he should find the minimal bookkeeping of the MCAI Chapter a breeze.

Kirsch fills the shoes of longtime Treasurer, Emmett Kesel who retired in August last year. He joins the board at a time when MCAI is exploring ways to leverage its official tax status as a 501(c)3 charity to better serve the professional media industry and the community at large. For Kirsch, this is a natural fit, since he has a history of supporting the entertainment arts and media education in Orange County. In fact, Art will soon be re-launching two of his own pet non-profit projects, OCShowbiz and Day Job Productions. Art also serves on the Board of Directors of Media Alliance of Orange County

As you probably know, MCA-I is an all-volunteer, self-directed, non-profit international association so all officers and board members serve without compensation. When you see Art Kirsch at the next monthly MCAI Meeting, be sure to offer him congratulations!
