MCAI Member Craig Bentley from our San Diego chapter is getting ever closer to distribution for his feature length documentary on Monopoly, Under The Boardwalk. Here's his May 2010 Update.
We are currently working hard to have the best possible film to submit to the Toronto Film Festival this week. While we won't have a completely finished film for the submission deadline, they accept works-in-progress. We are working on possibly getting an extension to submit later in June, but until we hear definitively, our plan is to send the current cut of the film off to Toronto this Wednesday!Since it is important to prepare for all possible outcomes, if we do not get into the Toronto Film Festival (which is considered one of the top three festivals in the world and thus is very selective), we do have another plan that we are working on that would still give us a fairly large release for the film. However, this would likely require us to delay a release of the film into early 2011 in order to have enough time to build a proper marketing campaign.
We're very excited to have begun getting music from Larry Groupe, our composer, and as we get closer to a final cut, he'll be writing more tracks for the film.
Over 600 people around the world have demanded a screening of the film on Eventful.com. The general Monopoly Facebook page that Kevin administers is gaining thousands of new fans every week, and has now put the 300,000 fan milestone far in its rear view mirror. Now we're trying to build up our film's facebook page, so please go there and click on Like!
Thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to support us this far!

For the second year, the Panasonic Solutions Company is making these iconic events possible. Starting on March 24th with the first event in San Diego, Panasonic is supporting media professionals with its involvement in MCA-I’s MediaProCamp. The popularity of the event has grown the series to a total of six this year.
Previously, Panasonic has given attendees sneak previews of new products such as the groundbreaking AG-3DP1, a 3D integrated twin-lens P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder, and the Panasonic AG-AF100 featuring a large 4/3-inch, 16:9 MOS imager with an imaging area just slightly smaller than 35mm cinema film
