Two years ago, MCA-I oc/la put on the very first MCA-I Media Pro Camp. It was a huge success followed by another great camp last year. In a few short weeks, on June 4, we are doing it again! You really want to—no, need to— be there!
This year we are one of four MediaProCamps being held by various MCAI chapters around the country! Thanks to the generous support of Santa Ana College's Digital Media Center, and Panasonic, we once again have a fantastic opportunity to come together and learn, share our own slice of knowledge and network with fellow media pros in a very unique and fun setting.
What makes the Camps so special is that everyone designs the program on the spot. It’s fun to experience as people post a topic idea on the board and the topics with the most votes are assigned a room to meet in for about 45 minutes. You don’t need to be an “expert” to suggest a topic idea - just have enough knowledge to get the discussion started. The magic of the breakout session happens when everyone starts to talk about their experiences and share as little or as much as they know about the topic. Each of us might know a little about something but collectively we know a lot, and we all benefit from the group knowledge. By the end of the day you will have experienced five or six of these short, powerful, interactive sessions.
For those of you who have come to a camp before, I encourage you to tell others about it and invite them to join you this year. And for those of you who are curious about what this is all about, well, all I can say is just come on out! Bring a friend too! This is really a unique way to spend a day and you will be glad you came. Don’t miss it!
See you there! -- Mark
