2012 MediaProCamp Coming June 9- Save the Date

For the third consecutive year Santa Ana College’ Digital Media Center (DMC) http://www.dmc-works.com will play host to MCAI’s MediaProCamp. The facilities media professionals of Orange County will have access to include well-equipped conference rooms, computer labs and the state-of-the-art main television studio.

The Digital Media Center houses the College’s department of Television including two studios, control rooms classrooms and post production facilities. Also included in the DMC is a New-Media Business Incubator. Many of those innovative, emerging companies and their principals will also participate in MediaProCamp’11, adding their expertise and unique perspective of the industry.

The DMC’s incubator includes companies involved in developing mobile apps, digital sinage solutions, an angel investor association, digital motion capture for Film & TV and archiving tools for digital video management among others. For details go online to http://www.dmc-works.com

The business incubator was created to assist Orange County-area digital media entrepreneurs develop and grow their business. The business incubator, which can accommodate 10-12 start-up companies, provides competitive lease rates and offers services ranging from basic business consulting to marketing/advertising, human resources, accounting, web and promotional design and access to venture capital. Residents benefit from the professional network created within the DMC.

The Digital Media Center is a joint venture of The Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD), Santa Ana College, the City of Santa Ana and U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration:

RSCCD is home of one of the state’s oldest community colleges in Santa Ana College and one of the newest, Santiago Canyon College. Centered in a growing and dynamic area, the district serves a population of more than 700,000 residents in the communities of Anaheim Hills, Garden Grove, Irvine, Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin and Villa Park. In addition to its two colleges, RSCCD fosters economic development through programs that support businesses and industry.

Founded in 1915, Santa Ana College (SAC) is a comprehensive community college offering over 300 subjects leading to the associate degree in science or arts or vocational certificate of competency.  Santa Ana College prides itself in successfully preparing students for transfer to the University of California and the California State University systems.

Founded in 1869, the City of Santa Ana has long been the county's government powerbase. Today, this historic city serves as Orange County's downtown. Businesses, tourists and locals come to Santa Ana for its fresh, unexpected experiences - from gleaming, technologically advanced office buildings and innovative exhibits at the many museums and galleries, to luxury high-rise living and distinctive restaurants.

As the U.S. Department of Commerce’s domestic economic development arm, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) targets its investment assistance on attracting private capital investment and creating higher-skill, higher-wage jobs in those communities and regions that are suffering from economic challenges. EDA investments are focused on locally-developed, regionally-based economic development initiatives that achieve the highest return on the taxpayers’ investment and that directly contribute to economic growth.

Panasonic Sponsors All MCA-i MediaProCamps for 2012!

panasonic-logo-190 For the second year, the Panasonic Solutions Company is making these iconic events possible. Starting on March 24th with the first event in San Diego, Panasonic is supporting media professionals with its involvement in MCA-I’s MediaProCamp. The popularity of the event has grown the series to a total of six this year.

Previously, Panasonic has given attendees sneak previews of new products such as the groundbreaking AG-3DP1, a 3D integrated twin-lens P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder, and the Panasonic AG-AF100 featuring a large 4/3-inch, 16:9 MOS imager with an imaging area just slightly smaller than 35mm cinema film
